World expo glass dome

From 13 April to 13 October 2025, the World Expo will take place in Osaka, Japan. At the request of Carré 7 architecture, vitroplena designed and engineered a glass dome located above the entrance hall of the Belgian pavilion.

Besides the fact that the entire dome had to be 100% dismountable (it will be brought to Belgium after the expo and rebuilt at a currently undisclosed location), a ring-shaped waterfall also hangs from the dome.

The result: a custom-made glazed dome with as minimal steel structure as possible, fitted with triangular glass panels with side +/- 2,7 m.
